The Neurodiversity (ND) Support Hub
The Neurodiversity (ND) Support Hub is now open! This is a place for families, children and young people, aged 0-25 years, with Autism and ADHD related needs.
The ND Support Hub is operated by Point and provides tailored support for children and young people aged 0–25 with Autism and ADHD-related needs, with or without a formal diagnosis. The hub offers a range of needs-led support for families, including parent and carer workshops, sessions for children and young people focused on Autism and ADHD acceptance, and access to neurodiversity navigation support.
The service also delivers the “Riding the Rapids” programme, a group-based intervention designed to support families on the pathway to Autism assessment. Working in partnership with local services, the ND Hub aims to help families build confidence and access the right support,

Mahdlo Youth Zone
Mahdlo is a state-of-the-art Youth Zone in the heart of Oldham for 8-21 year olds (up to 25 for young people with a disability). Open 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year, we offer an exciting range of activities and opportunities that all young people from across Oldham can access for just 50p as a member.

Riding for the Disabled Association RDA
With fun activities like riding and carriage driving, RDA provide therapy, fitness, skills development and opportunities for achievement. RDA is an inclusive and diverse organisation. They welcome clients with physical and learning disabilities and autism, and there are no age restrictions.

The Disabled Ramblers
The Disabled Ramblers is a small charity working across England and Wales to help make the countryside more accessible to people with limited mobility – which benefits everyone. They run 25 – 30 rambles designed for mobility scooters each year, organised into groups of 3 or 4 in selected areas of the country. They are run from April to October, whatever the weather.

Oldham Ability Wheelz Cycling Centre operates from within Alexander Park on the outskirts of the town. The trails within the park are mainly flat but there are one or two inclines so be prepared to pedal harder! Lots of regular sessions throughout the week for all abilities

OASIS Greater Manchester - Encounter, PACS and The Navigator Project
Oasis Greater Manchester (GM) are doing some fantastic work with children, young people, and their families across GM through three impactful initiatives: Encounter, PACS, and the Navigator Project.
Encounter is an 8-week therapeutic online course for parents called Encounter, based on the principles of non-violent resistance(NVR), which explores ‘connection before correction’ and has proven to be effective where a child has anxiety, ADHD, or Autism. NVR is an innovative form of systemic family intervention, which has been developed for aggressive, violent, controlling and self-destructive behaviour in young people. This is a fantastic therapeutic programme that is especially of benefit to parents who are struggling to maintain boundaries and high parental presence in the home. The course is free and is delivered by trained practitioners.
PACS (Parent and Carer Support) Launched in October 2023, PACS provides practical advice and one-to-one support for parents and carers concerned about their child's behaviour or risk of violence. The service includes advocacy, crisis intervention, and access to counselling and therapeutic services.
Navigator Project Established in May 2021, this project works with young people aged 10-25 who have experienced violence. It helps them cope, recover, and connect with local support networks to prevent further violence

Oldham Parent Carer Forum
We are a member of the National Network of Parent Carer Forums.
Our main aim is to ensure the needs of our children and young people with SEND are met and we bring together parent carers from across Oldham to provide mutual support, exchange information, and influence policy and practice:
- create a culture of participation and co-production across education, health, social care and the voluntary sectors. This means that we can become involved in all aspects of designing, commissioning, delivering and reviewing services as an equal partner;
- empower our members to ensure that their voices are heard at a local, regional and national level; and
- inspire our partners by sharing good practice and knowledge.
Oldham SENDIAS Service
Oldham SEND IAS Service exists to help parents and carers of children with additional needs and disabilities; and children and young people themselves, in matters relating to their Education, Health or Social Care provision.
Their support services are tailored to your individual needs and are both personal and confidential. They can offer you:
- Independent information about Special Needs Education.
- One-to-one advice and support.
- Details about how Special Education, Health and Social Care is organised.
- Advice about working with those involved with you, your child or young person.
- Information about local support networks.
- Access to Independent Parental Support for Parents, Carers and Young People 16+
- Support to arrange Mediation and Disagreement Resolution.
- Support with SEND Tribunal claims.
- Opportunities to improve and shape services through our SEND IAS Steering Group.
Their website contains useful information, guidance and practical tools to enable you to understand the processes and arrangements for Special Educational Needs and disability both locally and nationally so that you can make informed choices about the provision required to meet you own, or your child or young persons needs.

SEND Gateway Resources
Whole School SEND is a consortium of charities, schools and organisations. We are committed to helping children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) or learning differences reach their full potential.
Hosted by nasen, we deliver the Department for Education SEND Schools’ Workforce Support Contract and a randomised control trial funded by the Education Endowment Foundation.
Family Information Service
The Family Information Service (FIS) provides free, impartial, up-to-date information to support parents / carers with children and young people aged 0-20 years and prospective parents.
They provide information on a wide range of services such as:
• Childcare
• Local and national services
• Local events and activities
• Financial support
• Health issues
• Schools
• Free Early Education for 2 year olds
• Free Early Education for 3 and 4 year olds
• Employment (Get Oldham Working)
The FIS also provides a childcare brokerage service which offers additional support to help find suitable childcare. The service is available to everyone; however specific consideration is given to:
• Parents experiencing difficulty finding childcare
• Parents stating childcare is a barrier to employment, education or training
• Parents of children with additional educational needs
• Parents with additional needs (including disability, learning difficulties, literacy etc)
• Teenage parents
• Single parents
• Parents needing emergency childcare or childcare at short notice
• Low income families
• Carers of looked after children
